Oy! Just Beat It

A buddy and I went to see a friend's play on Tuesday, funniest play I've seen in a while

Berry Berry funny play - laughed so hard :)

"Following the success of her past work, including Fish Eyes and The Misfit, Majumdar brings her latest show, Oy! Just Beat It!, to the 2010 Toronto Fringe Festival!

Already named as one of the top “crowd pleaser” shows at this year’s Fringe by the Toronto Star, the show does not disappoint. To all those who love Michael Jackson AND Bollywood – here’s a beautiful mix of the two for you!

Co-starring Leon Aureus, Oy! Just Beat It! takes us back to 1989 India, where aspiring playback singers Kabira (Majumdar) and Phillipe (Aureus) share one late night together recording a song for a new Bollywood movie. As the audience spends the night with them, the play takes us on a fun musical journey, which also manages to touch upon the discrimination felt by both characters on the basis of their skin tone. Mixing serious social issues with solid humour and strong music, this play is definitely worth the watch!" -
